International Skilled Worker (ISW) sub-categories – Occupations in Demand and Express Entry Update
The SINP will be implementing an improved application process for the International Skilled Worker sub-categories – Occupations in Demand and Express Entry. An Expression of Interest (EOI) system is being introduced for these sub-categories where applicants no longer have to wait for the threshold to open to submit an application.
Effective July 16, 2018, applicants will create an EOI profile in the SINP’s online application system (OASIS) and enter basic information about themselves including name, date of birth, home country and email address and then self-assess using the SINP point assessment grid. Once the profile has been completed, candidates will submit their expression of interest and be entered into a candidate pool. Candidates in the pool that meet program and selection criteria will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
The number of invitations issued in each draw and the frequency of draws will be determined by the needs of the SINP application inventory. To begin, draws will take place on a monthly basis, at minimum. The dates of the draws will not be communicated but the results will be. The range of point scores and a description of the attributes of the group of candidates chosen in the draws will be shown on the EOI webpage at: www.saskatchewan.ca/worker-eoi
Applicants who are invited to apply will be able to access the “Applicant Details” from former pending online applications. The following will be accessible: disclosure forms, birth documents, education records, citizenship, passport, marital status, and work experience information and language test results. To complete the pending application, the remainder of the application will need to be filled out and additional documents attached, including: settlement funds, family records, information related to Connections to Saskatchewan and federal forms. Once the application is reviewed for completeness and the application fee is paid, it is ready for submission.
